Self-Sufficient Studio, Oxford
An underused corner of Oxford has a new self sufficient studio space.
This is a 29sqm Energy Independent studio with a 3.5m height. A shady location has lead to a unique way of approaching the PV array. We have been doing some energy modelling to look at how to effectively gather solar energy when surrounded by mature trees with no obvious south facing roof. There is a ‘twist’ in the pitch to allow a surface for multiple small panels to be orientated in multiple directions to gather solar energy throughout the day (a bit like a tree has leaves pointing in many directions). Energy studies coming soon!
